The Financial Controller occupies a central position in managing the financial operations of a dynamic manufacturing and sales unit. Reporting to the Norwegian Country Manager who holds responsibility for both Norwegian and Danish Noratel operations – this role carries the responsibility for overseeing the entire financial function of Noratel in Norway and Denmark, and will  be a part of the Management team. This encompasses a wide spectrum of duties, from handling daily transactional tasks to conducting strategic financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a combination of hands-on accounting, business acumen, and engaging stakeholders across different organizational levels. The Norwegian Finance organisation includes one accountant, who will be reporting to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the financial function in Norway and Denmark.
  • Financial Month close process in line with Group accounting policies, standards and expectations.
  • Financial reporting to Noratel Group and support local management with Commercial and Operational reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Support management of working capital and cash flow to optimize liquidity and support business operations.
  • Develop and maintain financial plans, budgets, and monthly forecasts to support decision-making.
  • Provide analytical support to local management, offering insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate financial results, forecasts, and strategic plans to stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
  • Oversee and actively engage in day-to-day financial operations including bookkeeping, transactional work, and compliance with local taxation rules – for both Noratel Norway and Denmark.
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement audit recommendations to enhance financial processes and controls.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing or finance.
  • Some years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with IFRS would be a benefit.
  • Solid experience and excellent MS Excel skills will be required.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry would be a benefit.
  • Business acumen with the ability and desire to think strategically and analyse complex financial data
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • High degree of integrity, self-motivation, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, both verbal and written.
